No, VSM is not a shipyard. We are shipyard professionals capable of providing services at any shipyard that needs assistance.
Does VSM have any physical locations?
VSM Associates has offices in Baltimore, MD, Phippsburg, ME, and Pearl Harbor, HI. Our standard practice is to travel to meet clients at their facility as needed.
What is a dockmaster?
A dockmaster is the person who is in command of a docking or undocking operation and carries sole responsibility for the execution of the evolution, and the safety of the personnel, the vessel, the docking facility.
What types of drydocks can VSM operate?
VSM’s dockmasters have commanded evolutions on floating dry docks, graving docks, and hoist configurations such as crane or travel lift.
Can you drydock a vessel on a vertical shiplift?
VSM is currently developing our experience on vertical shiplifts in partnership with Bardex, the globally premier designer and manufacturer of vertical shiplift systems.
